Many hotels close for the winter months but the number is gradually reducing as more tourists are visiting out of season

November marks the end of the summer season, although this year there were high hotel occupancy levels right up to the end of October and some hotels which had planned to close in the middle of the month decided to remain open a bit longer.

Marbella wants the central court at the Puente Romano tennis club to be the venue for the Davis Cup clash between Spain and the United Kingdom next year. As part of its application to host the event, the council says it would expand the seating around the court so that 8,500 people could attend. The details were revealed in Madrid last Thursday, at the Spanish Tennis Federation, by the mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, sports councillor Javier Mérida and Marbella-based tennis star Manolo Santana.
