The Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving is the only of its kind in Spain dedicated to the preservation, promotion and exhibition of 20th and 21st century engravings and Spanish graphic artwork. The Museum has an important collection of more than four thousand works by different artists such as Goya, Fortuny, Baroja, Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Chillida, Saura, Tapies, Barceló and Plensa. From our extensive collection, the artworks are exclusively selected to be shown inside the restoring rooms of an old Encarnación Hospital, which is preserved in the old Renaissance architectural colours, with a strong reminiscence of the Gothic-Mudejar styles.
In eighteen years of existence, the Museum has worked intensely, showing in its temporary exhibitions room’s prints of Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Chillida, Barceló, Saura, Goya Lichtenstien, Alex Katz and Joseph Alberts, in over two hundred exhibitions, often organized with other major Spanish Museums.
